Getting Started
One complete self-serve setup path. Go from downloading the installer to having a personalized, chat-ready AI assistant running natively on your machine in under 5 minutes. Optionally add Cloud Relay for 24/7 always-on access.
Download the Installer
Get the correct executable for your operating system from our official download page. The SmartClaw desktop app is available for Windows 10/11, macOS, and Linux.
Go to Download PageRun the Setup Wizard
Launch the installer. A clean, visually-guided setup wizard walks you through naming your assistant, picking a personality, choosing your AI provider, and connecting your first messaging channel. No terminal required.
Pick Your AI Provider
Inside the SmartClaw app, choose from 9 AI providers: Claude, ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity, Mistral, Groq, and Hugging Face for cloud, or Ollama and Llama.cpp for free local inference with any GGUF model. If you do not have a cloud API key yet, use our beginner-friendly API guide below.
Open API Key GuideSend Your First Message
Start chatting right away using the built-in Chat tab in the SmartClaw dashboard, or connect WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Signal, or Slack for messaging through your favorite app. Your conversations persist locally and can optionally sync across devices with end-to-end encryption. Over time, your assistant learns your preferences and gets smarter with every interaction.
Optional: Connect Your Mobile App
Install SmartClaw on your phone (Android / iOS) and sign in with your account. On the same Wi-Fi as your PC, the app connects automatically — no setup needed. Away from home? Go to Dashboard → Remote Access → Start Tunnel to create a free Cloudflare Tunnel. The app generates a secure URL you paste into your phone once. Stop the tunnel when you're done.
Remote Access GuideOptional: Add Cloud Relay
Want your assistant available around the clock even when your PC is off? Subscribe to Cloud Relay from the Cloud tab in your dashboard. Cloud Relay keeps your channels live 24/7 — scheduled tasks and automations run overnight, and results sync back to your desktop when you open it. Uses your own API keys (BYOK).

If the installation wizard fails or you experience crashes opening the app, it is usually caused by overly restrictive antivirus software blocking unsigned installers.
